Our client is a growing boutique firm in Newcastle CBD with an award- winning team who are recognised experts in all areas of health and relationship law including medical, family and elder law, estate planning, aged care and conveyancing. A special focus of the firm is disputes and complex matters including estate management, estate litigation including family provision, questions regarding testamentary capacity, undue influence and elder abuse.

They now have a position available for a part time Finance & Accounting Officer (30.4 hours per week - however you prefer to work them!) to support the Finance Manager ensuring the finance operations run smoothly.
ABOUT YOUR NEXT ROLE…
As the Finance & Accounting Officer, you will need to hit the ground running in providing professional assistance and support to the Finance Manager in delivering the strategic finance oversight of the company. You will be responsible for controlling accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, coordinating daily cashflow reporting, keeping accurate records for all daily transactions, monitoring of budgets, and will provide support for additional operational needs as required. You will be involved in –
- Performing all accounting transaction processing including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost/Accrual Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Payroll Processing and Revenue Recognition
- Keeps accurate records for all daily transactions, prepare balance sheets, process invoices, record accounts payable and accounts receivable, update internal systems with financial data including entry of data into the correct ledgers (GL & Trust)
- Assist with settlement reconciliation
- Monthly, quarterly & annual reporting
- Statutory accounting
- Taxation compliance
- Payroll services support
- You will have at least 3 years’ experience generalist Finance experience
- You will have some previous experience in trust accounting
- You will be at minimum TAFE Diploma qualified
- You are described as efficient and accurate
