We are a respected, multi-disciplinary rehabilitation service catering to the unique needs of clients with neurological injury. We provide the most comprehensive allied health services in our sector with seven innovative rehabilitation centres across Melbourne and an extensive home visit and community-based service. We provide therapy where it is most needed.

Your Role

As a NeuroRehab Allied Health Network Senior OT, you will be responsible for delivering occupational therapy services of the highest quality, playing a role in the development of the service, supervising/mentoring junior OT's and developing programs for our Allied Health Assistant staff to carry out.


Our clients are predominantly NDIS participants along with some TAC and My Aged Care funded clients.


Specialising in neurological rehabilitation, we work with clients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, MS, cerebral palsy, intellectual disability and a range of neurological impairments. While we accept referrals in all age categories from Paediatrics to Elderly, your caseload will be tailored to areas of your interest / strengths. While we have a current adult caseload we are also open to applications for a paediatric role.


We are looking for additional experienced OT(s) for our Western (Deer Park / Werribee / Melton based) and Northern (Thomastown / Tullamarine) team. We always do our best to allocate a catchment area / base clinic geared to the area where you live! 


Working hours are negotiated directly with clients, allowing excellent flexibility. We are seeking applications for a full time role however part-time applications for 3-5 days will also be considered for the right applicant.

Requirements

· AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.

· Highly knowledgeable in a wide range of evidence based Occupational Therapy.

· Familiarity and extensive experience prescribing a diverse range of assistive Technology.

· A minimum 4 years experience

· Driver's license

· Professional Indemnity Insurance

· Internet access

· Successful candidates are required to undertake a Police Check, Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening prior to appointment and are required to disclose any pre-existing injury or illness which may be adversely affected by undertaking the position.


Desirable:

· Previous experience providing Occupational Therapy within an NDIS framework.

· Experience mentoring / supervising junior therapists

· A base salary that reflects years of relevant experience - $85-100k plus super

· A bonus commission program that rewards efficiency but not compromise care (this usually kicks in when you are billing for just over half of your time). Time spent supervising juniors and on certain quality projects is just as valuable to us and so these tasks also contribute toward the bonus program (therapists generally earn an additional $5-20k with this program).

· A kpi that is achievable - our goal is billing around 5 hours per working day and have an expectation that it will take some months to build up to this.

· Fully equipped Innovative rehabilitation clinics including Upper Limb training areas, SENSe kits, Saebo equipment, the latest functional electrical stimulation devices, virtual reality and a large range of basic assistive technology to make equipment trials easy.

· Low Cost AT provision made easy! - Once you have confirmed what you need with a participant, our Accounts team will source, provide and invoice to their NDIS plan directly (including electronics, kitchen accessories, and ADL items).

· Access to a wide variety of standardised assessments in physical and electronic forms for both Paediatrics and Adults.

· A full MDT to work with and support clients with whatever service they most need to achieve their goals.

· Our Expand Horizons core value is not just for the clients we work with - We love to develop our team members' skills and knowledge so as a result, we offer an open ended professional development allowance - if a course will develop you and benefit our clientele group then we either fund it for you or even run the course for our team specifically! We'll also provide 4 days study leave!

· We have a well structured supervision program with our highly experienced Team Leader OT staff as well as peer support therapists to help get you started off.

· If your laptop is a relic we will happily provide an awesome one but if you are comfortable on yours we will chip in toward running costs and we can help save the planet together!

· A work mobile phone is a necessity for working in the community (and to keep work and play separate!) so of course we will provide one of these.

· Regular team meetings and multiple communication channels so everyone stays informed and supported with what is happening within the organisation and individual teams.
