Your new team

  • The North West Area Mental Health Service (NWAMHS) provides a comprehensive range of mental health services to adults aged between 16-65 who reside in the local government areas of Moreland and Hume.

  • We welcome professionals who are committed to delivering high quality care, working as part of a dedicated team and always keeping the consumer’s needs central to all care provided.

  • We will support you in meeting your professional development requirements and we will go the extra mile to ensure you feel like part of our team from the beginning.

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • Work closely with carers and lived experience workforce to ensure carer perspective is incorporated at all levels including planning, development, evaluation and training.

  • Participate in leadership groups of the service, project development, consultation and liaison with carers and partake in the leadership of the Carer Advisory Group. 

  • Work collaboratively with other carer and consumer workers and the AMHS clinical staff in direct service provision

  • Advocate with respect to diversity issues affecting carers (CALD, gender, age, multiple disabilities and disadvantage)

Your contribution

  • Demonstrated experience as a Carer/Family member of an Adult Consumer of an Area Mental Health Service

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Well-developed writing skills enabling prompt preparation of documentation & reports
