Full Job Description

Sunny Pine Home Care provides personal care and support to people with disability. We are currently seeking Disability Support Worker and Personal Support Assistant with a positive attitude and passion to support our valued clients living independently in North and Western part of Melbourne. DSW works in a range of service units which provide community access to people with intellectual, physical, social and emotional disabilities. PSA assist people with a disability to live independently in their own home and the broader community by providing personal care, domestic assistance and community access. If you are dedicated, enjoy caring people and you have experience in a similar area, we would like to hear from you.

Qualifications & Experiences

  • Certificate IV in Disability or Aged Care or Individual Support or relevant
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current national police check issued less than 6 months
  • May require international police check (if have lived overseas for 12 months or more in the last 10 years)
  • Driver’s license (Mandatory for DSW)
  • Working With Children Check
  • NDIS Orientation online training

Key Responsibility & Duties for Disability Support Worker

  • Accompanying client for medical appointments
  • Transporting client to social outings and social engagements.
  • Assisting with celebrations and special events
  • Liaison with the Facility Manager to report any issues
  • Entering case notes on client’s progress into the case note system
  • Supports other staff and guide service improvement
  • Understands of, and commitment to Workplace, Health and Safety principle

Key Responsibility & Duties for PSA

  • Assisting client with their personal hygiene needs as following:

Showering, Teeth or oral cleaning, Shaving, Dressing and grooming

  • Assisting with client’s other personal care.
  • Response for changing bed linens, wash laundry, maintain room cleaning
  • Ensure the client is clean and comfortable
  • Assisting clients with food preparation and planning and feeding (if required)
  • Assisting with medication as instructed by client
  • Remind client to take medication from Webster packs
  • Responding to emergency situations
  • Observe and record the limitations/increased assistance needs of the client
  • Encourage the client to perform tasks as per the Care Plan
  • Assist the client with emotional, psychological, cultural and spiritual needs
  • Documented client’s behavior in terms of mental status, sleeping and eating patterns in medical record books
  • Monitoring any changes in the client’s needs and reporting them to manager or supervisor

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Salary: $24.00 per hour
