St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne is part of St. Vincent’s Health Australia, the largest not-for-profit health service network in Australia. We provide a range of services, including acute medical and surgical services, emergency and critical care, aged care, diagnostics, rehabilitation, allied health, mental health, palliative care, residential care and correctional health. The Victorian Government announced that St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne has been selected to operate one of the State’s new high-volume COVID-19 Vaccination Centres as part of the COVID-19 Vaccination Program. St Vincent’s has been at the front line of the State’s COVID-19 response since early 2020. Now, with the commencement of the vaccination program, St Vincent’s has the opportunity once again to play a leadership role in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

About the Covid19 Vaccination Program

The COVID-19 Vaccination Program at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne is being run in conjunction with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), to provide the approved COVID-19 Vaccine to St Vincent’s Hospital employees and the community in the North East Region of Melbourne

About the Role
The Roster Coordinator will be responsible for development of the Master Roster and day-to-day scheduling and confirming of shifts for the SVHM COVID Vaccination community clinic. The role involves creating, filling and publishing the weekly roster and making necessary changes to provide accurate, easily accessible, and up to date information for the organisation.

The workforce for the SVHM COVID Vaccination clinic is expected to reach approx. 300 staff members that span across multiple disciplines including nursing, health assistants, administration and pharmacy.

The rosters are to be developed according to each EBA applicable and also satisfy core principles of safety, fatigue management, legal compliance and financial sustainability.

The role is full time, fixed term (6 months).

Classification for the role is HS3 ($74,455 per annum)

Duties

Assist the Operations team to develop the Master Roster for both Administration and Clinical Staff working at the SVHM COVID Vaccination Clinic
Develop a weekly roster and manage ongoing roster changes
Liaise and communicate with internal stakeholders in a timely manner with relation to roster planning, development and distribution.
Prepare weekly rosters and post and fill rosters within required timeframes.
Ensuring our database of approx. 300 employees are rostered and meet the needs of the clinic, whilst also adhering to safe and compliant rostering principles
Making alterations to rosters in line with operation management direction to ensure effective s taffing throughout.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Formal qualification in public health, HR, health management or another relevant discipline is highly desirable
Previous experience in a rostering, workforce planning or a similar role
A commitment to providing exceptional customer service;
Solution-focused with exceptional decision-making and problem-solving skills;
Flexible and adaptable to change;
Must love and be confident working in a fast-paced environment, being able to negotiate and manage conflicting priorities and manage expectations of stakeholders
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Highly developed computer skills
