Avivo is a leading Community Services organisation providing person-centered support for people in the Aged Care, Disability and Mental Health areas.

The Accounts Officer is responsible for supporting the effective and efficient function of the accounts payable and accounts receivable operations.

The role performs accounts payable related tasks to ensure timely and accurate recording of accounts payable transactions in line with delegation of authority and other relevant policies, ensuring payment deadlines are met. The role also performs accounts receivable related tasks to ensure the timely and accurate production of debtor’s invoices, processing of receipts and collection of debt.

The role will identify opportunities and implement improvements in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes to achieve efficiencies and good internal controls.

This position reports to the Accounts Lead and works in conjunction with the Finance team.

Accounts Payable

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Collation, distribution, scanning and filing of invoices
  • Verify all invoices for proper authorisation in accordance with Who Approves What
  • Accurately code, process and prepare invoices and manual payment requests for EFT and cheque payments in a timely manner
  • Provide support to the Accounts Payable team in the administration of the accounts payable function.

Accounts Receivable
  • Production and management of debtors’ invoices
  • Processing of credit notes and debtors’ ledger journals
  • Processing and allocation of receipts to debtors’ ledger and general ledger.
  • Investigate and resolve queries on debtors’ invoices and statements
  • Work with customers and community services to assist with the collection of debts
  • Provide support to the Accounts Receivable team in the administration of the accounts receivable function
Selection Criteria
  • Attitudes and behaviours that demonstrate Avivo’s vision and values
  • Previous accounts payable and accounts receivable processing experience
  • High level of data input skill
  • Previous experience using an ERP system
  • Well-developed computer skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well to all people

  • A salary starting from $57,935 per annum plus 9.5% super
