Central Queensland, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast PHN (The PHN) is a dynamic organisation with a pivotal role in influencing transformational change in the Australian Health sector. The PHN has a reputation within the sector for being innovative, forward thinking and leading change.


The PHN is an independent not-for-profit organisation funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health to improve the health outcomes of the region. It covers over 169,500 km2.

The PHN coordinates primary and preventative healthcare - that is, the healthcare that takes place outside of a hospital, such as General Practitioners (GP’s), allied health, chronic disease management, aged care, mental health and Indigenous health.

The key objectives of the PHN are to:

  • Enable responsive and dynamic solutions that optimise population health and well-being
  • Build healthy, resilient, connected communities - country to coast.


This role will be instrumental in delivering reforms in primary care Mental health, Alcohol and Other Drugs services to improve the experience of consumers in accessing better connected care.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs (MHAOD) this role will lead and manage the PHNs MHAOD access and early intervention commissioned services and programs to improve population health outcomes across the region. The Manager will work with key external stakeholders in health and human services to build capability within the sector and contribute to the effective delivery of the PHNs Joint Regional Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Plan. The Manager will proactively lead and manage a regionally dispersed team and work with internal PHN stakeholders to integrate services to deliver client centred solutions and ensure effective contract management and performance.
