Senior Psychologist Grade 3



  • Northern Community Care Unit (NCCU) is seeking an energetic and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our clinical team

  • Be part of the team within NorthWestern Mental Health (NWMH) Residential Rehabilitaion Service for the Northern Area Mental Health Service (NAMHS)

  • Fixed Term Part Time position available until January 2022 (40 hours per fortnight)

  • Based in Preston

Your new team



  • NorthWestern Mental Health (NWMH) provides a comprehensive, integrated range of services to people with a serious mental illness in North-Western Melbourne.

  • A multi-disciplinary workforce of 1,800 staff provides services through four Area Adult Mental Health Services (North West, Mid West, Inner West and Northern).

  • NCCU provides medium to long-term residential treatment and recovery for clients who have unremitting and severe symptoms of mental illness with multiple and complex needs.

  • Twenty sub-acute care beds within 9 separate units with varying occupancy capacity.

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to



  • Represent the highest level of care on the continuum of mental health services

  • Provide intensive assessment and treatment to consumers suffering from enduring psychosis who may also be experiencing a number of other complex issues

  • Opportunity to work with a team that strives for excellence

  • Opportunity to join the NCCU Executive team to actively participate and support change processes

  • Allocation of a consumer caseload, which supports their recovery journey whilst a resident at our facility


Your Contribution



  • Registration as a Psychologist under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with practice endorsement as a Clinical, Forensic or Clinical Neuro Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia

  • Psychologist Grade 2 or Grade 3 with minimum 3 years’ experience

  • Experience working with client with complex mental health issues

  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families and other service providers

  • Well-developed clinical skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
