About the role

Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager - Theatre, the Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide support to the Managers of the Operating suites and Endoscopy unit in facilitating excellence and quality in sterilising processes through proactive leadership and management of the Central Sterilising Departments (CSD).

This is a permanent part time (0.8 FTE) opportunity for suitably qualified RNs with relevant nursing experience in Theatre.

What you will bring

  • Registered with AHPRA and in possession of a current practising certificate
  • Experience in perioperative nursing or equivalent
  • Demonstrated expertise in a Central Sterilising Department and commitment to quality
  • Demonstrated understanding of risk management processes and systems and their relationship to safe, quality, patient care and organisational outcomes
  • Post Grad Certificate in sterilisation and/or infection prevention and control, or willingness to undertake
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proven leadership and team building skills
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
