  • Experienced Associate Nurse Unit Manager or an emerging Leader

  • 5 South East, General Medical Ward – City Campus

  • Permanent Part Time Position: 64 Hours per fortnight

The ANUM is an integral member of the leadership team and works closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to develop and implement strategies that deliver high quality care to consumers while maintaining a focus on safety, efficient patient flow and resource management. The ANUM is responsible to the safe and efficient management of the shift including bed management and staff allocation and support.

  • 5 South East is a 30 bed ward specializing in a broad range of general medical & metabolic conditions

  • 5SE is committed to the delivery of high quality patient centred care in a dynamic, fast paced environment

  • We offer support for ongoing education and professional development

  • You will be supported by the NUM, education team and an experienced ANUM team to assist you into the role and empower you to further develop your leadership and management skills


Your success in this role, will be your ability to:



  • Contribute to a ward culture that puts people first and leads with kindness to achieve excellence together

  • Demonstrate collaborative leadership and effective management skills

  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement activities and search for ways to continuously improve health care and the experience of patients

  • Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team focussed on delivering high quality patient centred care

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Use your approachable style to support and foster the learning and growth of the nursing team and students

  • Assume the responsibility of manager of the ward in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager


About you:



  • Previous experience in similar role or an emerging leader who has demonstrated their leadership qualities, organisational skills and sound clinical knowledge

  • Current Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board is essential 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as Registered Nurse Division 1

  • Self-starter who demonstrates a high standard of professionalism
