An opportunity has become available to integrate an Endoscopy CNE into our Peri-operative Education resources at Monash Health. This position will provide Education support and resources to Endoscopy services across Monash Medical Centre, Monash Children’s Hospital, Dandenong and Casey Hospitals.

About the Role and You

The Monash Medical Centre Clayton Peri-operative Education are a high performing, award winning team who currently provide education support and resources to the operating theatres at Monash Medical Centre, Monash Children’s Hospital and the procedure rooms in the Endoscopy Unit. The Monash Health Endoscopy service has recently increased and additional procedure lists have commenced at Casey Hospital.

We are looking for an experienced Endoscopy nurse with evidence of recent interventional experience in gastroscopy and respiratory, who values our patient’s receiving exceptional Patient Care Experiences. You will have a passion for education and supporting both our beginner and experienced nurses.

Predominantly the role will be at the Clayton site with a regular presence required at the Casey and Dandenong sites to support the evolving Endoscopy service provision. The Endoscopy Unit at Clayton is a 3 room facility that has a throughput of 30-40 patients per day. It is able to facilitate both adults and paediatric patients. The unit is predominantly a day model, supporting inpatient procedures. It is a tertiary referral service with an extensive catchment area completing complex Endoscopy experiences for patients with extensive medical histories. Jessie MacPherson Private Hospital utilise the unit for various procedures, well integrated into the current model of care.

You will need to be a team player with advanced communication and influencing skills. Organisation will be essential to the management of education resources across the various sites.

Essential Criteria:

  • Interventional gastroscopy and respiratory experience (inclusive of rigid bronchoscopy, ERCPs, EBUS, Peri-oral endoscopic myototomies, ESD, EMR)

  • Post graduate qualification in relevant area

Desirable Criteria:

  • Understanding of Day Admission Practices

  • Anaesthetic/Recovery experience

  • Previous Clinical Nurse Educator experience
