Autumn Lodge is a highly regarded not for profit provider of residential aged care and retirement village services for the rural city of Armidale and the New England Region of NSW .With three distinct levels of care – residential care (60 beds), dementia care (50beds) and self care housing (40 units) AL has a long history of providing quality support to the elderly and their families in the community.

 Following the retirement of the current CEO we are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified professional replacement to take over the key leadership role of Chief Executive Officer.

 This is a unique opportunity for a high calibre executive to provide vision and leadership to a well established and highly regarded aged care facility and to enjoy the family lifestyle and first class education facilities this multi cultural rural city of Armidale offers.

 The ideal candidate will be self motivated and driven to succeed with preferably at least 5 years experience in a similar role and have demonstrated business acumen to effectively manage and ensure the ongoing sustainability of AL .

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and promote the culture of AL by ensuring all compliance, communications and action work towards achieving the goals and vision of the organisation.
  • Actively promote the implementation/review of the strategic plan through strong leadership and generating a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide strategic direction and vision in consultation with the Board.
  • Lead the AL team (Board and staff) to ensure key service provisions and regulatory compliance are maintained.
  • Keep abreast of changes and industry trends within the aged care sector to ensure AL remains competitive and delivers quality service to its residents.
  • Initiate strategic liaison with government, health agencies, training and education providers and other accrediting bodies.
  • Efficient management of all aspects of AL’s business including human resources and all financial and legal obligations.
  • Regular reporting to the Board on all aspects of AL’s business Selection

Selection Criteria:

  • Managerial experience in aged care or health services, preferably in the no-for-profit sector with post graduate qualifications.
  • Proven governance, financial management and organisational skills to deliver a strong performance.
  • Extensive experience if facility and people management, working as part of an executive team and the Board.
  • Ability to be a leader who can respond appropriately to what will be a rapidly changing environment in a considered and efficient manner.

 f you have significant management experience, preferably in the aged care, hold post graduate qualifications in business or management and would enjoy working in a friendly rural environment with excellent educational facilities then this position could be for you.
