About Chestnut Gardens at Monash Health


Monash Health is the largest public health service in Victoria, employing over 18,000 people across a range of specialities.


Our Residential Program offers the full range of residential services including: Low care (hostel), high care (nursing home), ageing in Place, respite care, dementia and also specialised care, across 5 dedicated locations of South East Melbourne. We practice a social model of care delivered by qualified nursing, allied health, lifestyle and support staff, also having access to the medical and mental health expertise.


The Avenue is a 40 bed unit, of which 10 are dementia specific and 30 mental health. Our focus is to support older people with complex mental and physical health issues. We aim to help our residents maintain a sense of wellbeing, have choice in their lives and continue to feel valued members of the community.


The Role


We are seeking committed Enrolled Nurses to join our vibrant and dynamic team; we currently have both Ongoing and Fixed Term Opportunities with varying EFT available, all on a 24/7 rotating roster.


Your job satisfaction will be drawn from making an important contribution to our elderly patients, helping them maximise their enjoyment and participation in life.


About You


To be successful in this position you will be experienced in the Acute or Aged Care/Residential sector, working with clients and residents with confirmed Mental Health diagnosis. To support this experience your will hold a Mental health qualification or have a strong commitment to undertake Mental Health studies.


With your well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, you are easily able to liaise and engage with others at all levels to deliver outcomes in a timely manner. As someone with a strong work ethic, self-motivation and personal values your contribution with the team will support each other and our organisation to be leaders in our field with exciting and progressive treatment and care.


What you Need



  • Ability to work across a rotating roster (7 days, 24 hours)

  • Analytical ability to review current nursing practice and be open to change and innovation

  • Working rights in Australia

  • AHPRA Registration

  • Medication Endorsement
