Regis Kirwan

Regis Kirwan is a friendly, restful community, just north of the river. Tucked next to the bowls club and purpose-designed for comfort, privacy and support, Regis Kirwan offers a thoughtful mix of lifestyle and contemporary aged care.

With 125 places, including 119 as single rooms, Regis Kirwan is setting the standards for aged care in the Townsville region. 30 places are reserved and especially outfitted for the care of people living with dementia.

About the role

A position is available for a Maintenance Officer to join Regis Kirwan on a full time basis. Previous handyperson/maintenance experience is essential and experience in a similar setting (Residential or Aged Care) will be highly regarded.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Setting up of rooms and equipment, adhering to OH&S guidelines
• Timely reporting
• Grounds upkeep
• Equipment and plant monitoring
• Coordination of the Maintenance program
• Preventative and corrective maintenance duties across the home

Skills & Experience

• Current police clearance
• Current First Aid / CPR Certificate
• Occupational Health and Safety knowledge
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage own time
• Excellent communication skills
• Exceptional Maintenance / Handyperson skills

Mandatory requirements for all candidates

• Valid National Police Check (Full disclosure or standard disclosure)
• Proof of the right to work lawfully in Australia
• Evidence that you have had the 2020 Flu Vaccination or willingness to complete this before employment can be offered (VIC & QLD currently exempt)*
