Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) is the major provider of specialist health services in the Gippsland region, east of Melbourne.  Our comprehensive range of services extends to emergency and intensive care, elective surgery, allied health, obstetrics, medical and radiation oncology at the Gippsland Cancer Care Centre, dialysis and aged care.

LRH has a number of outstanding facilities following a recent expansion. These include a cardiac catheterisation laboratory, large Emergency Department, endoscopy suites and modern and contemporary inpatient units. These complement extensive Allied Health amenities including a gym and pool.

LRH is the regional provider of mental health services in Gippsland. LRH Mental Health Service operates an integrated specialist mental health program across the region and provides inpatient and community mental health care for adults, children and young people and older persons.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and suitably qualified Project Lead to join the Regional Services and 'Better at Home'team at Latrobe Regional Hospital on a Fixed Term until 17 April 2022 basis for 80 hours per fortnight.

It is already known and understood widely that patients receiving care in their homes can have improved health outcomes due to the improved sleep environment, personal comforts, greater sense of safety and greater confidence to be engaged in their care pathway.

The 2020-2021 State Budget initiative titled ‘Better at Home’ aims to provide funding over three years to increase the delivery of healthcare within patients’ homes; where appropriate and supported by the patient. The Gippsland Better at Home initiative will integrate home-delivered and virtual care models to improve the health outcomes of the community.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Information and Regional Services the successful applicant to the role of Better at Home Project Lead will play an important role in coordinate the development of a whole of region sustainable Better at Home strategy, and develop appropriate systems to support the delivery of this strategy and the underlying program of work.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Develop and implement a Gippsland Better at Home project plan

  • Work with the Gippsland Region Public Health Services and relevant Working Groups/Steering Committees

  • Work across the entire the region and link into key bodies of work with stakeholders such as Public Health Services, the Department of Health, and the Regional Telehealth Project team

To be successful in this position you will need to have

  • Experience in project management and/or coordination

  • Proven experience leading complex project/s to successful completion

  • Experience working in the health sector

  • Relevant clinical or leadership experience
