JOB DESCRIPTION

About Us

Uniting Communities is a leading not-for-profit community service organisation in South Australia. With over 1,500 employees and volunteers, we offer a range of multi-dimensional services across the State. Our vision is of a compassionate, respectful and just community in which all people participate and flourish. We support individuals and communities through quality service delivery and advocacy.

About the role.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive Occupational Therapy (OT) assessments and interventions for our aged care clients across the Adelaide metropolitan community.

Whilst promoting health and independence we currently offer our services to the community in home, at our Prospect and CBD clinic locations and at our residential care facilities. Due to growth we have a rare opportunity to join our team to predominantly provide community occupational therapy services across the Adelaide metropolitan area. This would incorporate one day per week supporting our Residential Aged Care team at our site in Glenelg.

This role will need the successful applicant to be flexible, autonomous, have excellent communication skills and be looking for diversity within their role. We value someone who is eager to work within a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals, and contribute to the growing footprint of Uniting Communities Allied Health, by building strong relationships with referral sources and key stakeholders. In return to this we can offer flexible work arrangements, whether that be working from home to service our community clients or from our offices in Prospect, the city or Glenelg. Promotion of work/ life balance and working with a dedicated and passionate team are some of the key benefits.

If you have experience working in the Disability sector, or have a keen interest in developing your professional experience in this area, there may be additional opportunities to work within the Uniting Communities NDIS team, and continue to expand the footprint of allied health within this organisation.

You must have professional qualifications in occupational therapy and have current registration with AHPRA. You must have a full driver’s licence without restrictions, and current First Aid/CPR credentials. Previous experience in community aged care and NDIS would be highly advantageous but not essential. We encourage new graduates with interest in this area to apply, as there are options for professional mentoring for the right applicant with our Senior Occupational Therapist.

About the Remuneration

Remuneration will be dependent on your experience and qualifications.

We provide generous salary packaging benefits that enable you to increase and maximise your take home salary. In addition, other available benefits include; paid maternity leave, and discounted private health insurance. Check out our benefits at www.unitingcommunities.org
