Snowy Monaro Regional Council is located in south-east NSW, reaching from the ACT to the Victorian borders. The role

We are looking to engage an enthusiastic and proactive Clinical Support Lead. The Clinical Support Lead will manage resources (time, people, assets) to deliver safe, high quality and effective person-centred clinical care within the scope of registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and Australian Health Agency Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). This position is offered in a permanent part-time capacity, based on 8 hours per week, located at Yallambee Lodge, Cooma and Snowy River Hostel, Berridale.

The role is responsible for:

  • Lead the implementation of systems and processes that support contemporary clinical governance approaches and ensure clinical risk is evidenced, implemented and complied with
  • Ensure that clinical care supplies and practices consider financial implications and seek to find efficiencies where possible
  • Ensure an appropriate balance of client safety and dignity of risk is achieved
  • Coordinate and report on internal audit processes, care and services plan development, performance indicators and quality activities within related areas
  • Lead the team in the reporting of incidents and clinical safety issues using risk and incident management systems to respond positively to support continuous improvement
  • Coordinate and oversee Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI), care and services plan assessment/s and all admissions
  • Maintain registration with overarching regulatory bodies and undertake continued professional development to support knowledge of principles of health care

About you

You will have:

  • Current Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration, minimum year 4 with post registration qualification and 12 months experience working in the clinical area of the qualification
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with older people or people with disability in a positive, friendly and professional manner
  • Proficient in the use of computers
  • Commitment to work a variety of shifts based on the needs of the business and work as part of the on call roster
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships to achieve outcomes that contribute to the achievement of the organisation’s strategic goals
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards
