M.D. Projects (VIC) are looking for Apprentices to join our existing team of Qualified Carpenters.

M.D. Projects (VIC) are a commercial Carpentry & Joinery specialist looking to add some ambitious apprentices to an existing team of Carpenters. Projects include apartments, hotels, fit-outs, aged care - all for leading contractors in the Melbourne commercial sector.

Reports to: Site Supervisor and Leading Hand

The Apprentice is responsible for performing tasks under guidance of the Site Supervisor and Leading Hand, following instructions to safely and efficiently complete construction tasks.

Main Responsibilities

  • Have a thorough and full understanding of all operational requirements and instruction communicated by Site Supervisor.
  • Perform level of work and achieve end result to meet compliance on any relevant tolerances.
  • Perform all carpentry tasks to standard required.
  • Work co-operatively with other team members.
  • Attend work on time and complete jobs to requirements.
  • High level of awareness of requirements for successful task completion.
  • Stay within timelines for task completion wherever possible.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Maintain a clean appearance and wear uniform to represent the company professionally.
  • Attend work with correct tools and equipment to accurately perform all tasks.
  • Abide by health and safety policies and procedures, including wearing PPE, safe use of
  • equipment and ensuring tools are in good condition.
  • Work in a safe manner to ensure safety of self and others around you in the team.
  • Report all incidents, hazards and injuries to Site Supervisor.
  • Participate in safety training and toolbox meetings, emergency drills and perform pre-operational equipment checklists.
