About the role
Here's your opportunity to work as an Allied Health Assistant for the Speech Pathology department. You will report directly to the Speech Pathology Manager within the Allied Health team and work under the ward Speech Pathologist. You will be responsible for delivering client centered care across the inpatient and outpatient settings, including direct (face to face work with a client) and indirect (non-face to face client and clinical practice related). In this role you will undertake tasks such as assisting a client to complete their swallow exercises, or run individual therapy sessions with clients (under the direction of a Speech Pathologist). Other tasks may include assisting with facilitating a group program and assisting with the co-ordination of resources required for health professionals and clients.
We are looking for
  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or working towards same, or similar qualification
  • Experience working as an Allied Health Assistant in either a hospital, aged care or community setting
  • Ability to work independently (with guidance) with minimal supervision
