Communication Officer

MELBAR is a leading home care service provider in the Chinese & CALD communities. We are committed to providing the right and tailored care for older people coming from a diverse cultural and linguistic background. Quality care is what we always stand for.

We are looking for an experienced Communications Officer that will work in collaboration with different stakeholders to assist in developing and implementing communication plans and strategies to help boost the brand and provide support to the community from a communication perspective.

Main Responsivities

Communications, Brand and Marketing

· Take charge of the day-to-day content and collaterals production

· Ensure all collaterals created are aligned to MELBAR’s consistent branding and communications strategy

· Manage MELBAR’s channels including website, WeChat official account, Facebook and LinkedIn

· Optimise channels performance (e.g., SEO) with strategic and analytical thinking

· Plan, produce and coordinate the delivery of the monthly newsletter

· Support and maintain the asset of artwork, infographics, copy, illustrations including the ongoing creation, management and sharing of this content

· Provide support for internal comms including translation and interpretation (Chinese to English or vice versa)

· Develop and deliver integrated communications/marketing campaigns and activities including organising offline/online events

· Working in collaboration with other staff to create and implement promotional strategies for services

· Respond to enquiries and requests from external stakeholders for MELBAR home care information and materials

Selection Criteria

Essential Criteria

1. Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism or related field

2. Previous experience in content production- content writing and graphic design (static images and gifs) in particular

3. A passion for writing and excellent written communications skills; capable of doing research and content planning individually

4. High level of attention to detail in grammar, writing and proofreading.

5. An excellent communication practitioner. Literacy in both English & Chinese is essential

6. Highly creative - with ability to identify target audiences and devise digital campaigns that engage, inform, educate or inspire the community

7. Experience in managing social platforms especially WeChat Official Account

8. Ability to work independently take a pro-active approach and complete tasks on time.

9. Well organised, excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.

10. Demonstrated confidence and self-starter, with a passion to learn.

11. Right to work in Australia

Desirable Criteria

1. Experience in managing website using WordPress

2. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (incl. Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign) and Canva

3. Video production skill is highly desired

4. Event planning and organisation skill is also highly regarded

5. Passion and interests for the aged care industry
