Latrobe City Council has a number of vacancies for Aged Care Support Workers with flexible hours between 9.30 am and 2.30 pm.

You will get to work in a caring team environment to deliver meaningful assistance to vulnerable community members as an Aged Care Support Worker in either Moe, Morwell or Traralgon.

Even better - the role will provide you future employment opportunities in a workforce with growing needs.

Aged Care Support Workers assist frail, aged clients by providing services that they may no longer be able to perform, either in the short-term while recovering from injury or on an ongoing basis. Domestic Assistance (no qualifications are required to undertake this role)– General cleaning, unaccompanied shopping and other small errands.

Personal Care* Tasks of a personal nature which may include assistance or supervision with showering, grooming, dressing, mobility, meal preparation and more.

Respite Care* - Providing a short-term break for the client’s usual carer by undertaking the carer role either in the client’s home or in the community

Individualised Social Support* - Provide assistance and support on outings such as accompanying them whilst shopping

*To undertake these roles you will require the minimum of Certificate III in Individual Support or Aged Care (or be willing to undertake this training).

You will have a passion for providing excellent customer service, the ability to communicate with a wide range of people and a current drivers licence.

Availability across various hours from Monday to Friday between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm is a must.

We also provide our staff with ongoing training, work uniforms, and payment for travel and time as per Latrobe City Council Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.

For further information and to view the position description please visit our website www.latrobe.vic.gov.au/careers or contact Kerryn Ashton, Direct Care Team Leader on (03) 5128 5615.
