Bus Driver

We have a permanent part time position available for a Bus Driver at Wheller Gardens- Chermside. The successful applicant will transport clients from their residence and return, including assistance with mobility from door to door and steps, as necessary. The position is 2 days per week with negotiation for the right person for days.
They will also be responsible for the maintenance of the bus and assisting the Leisure and Lifestyle staff during the course of outings.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Be responsible for the safe loading, securing and unloading of passengers and the safe storage of equipment.
- Drive and park the bus in a responsible, lawful, safe and courteous manner and conduct safety checks
on the vehicle daily. - Arrange for regular service and maintenance of the bus, drawing attention to problems which have
been observed and ensure the vehicle is clean at all times. - Arrange for re-fuelling of the bus at appropriate times, taking responsibility for the fuel card and
associated documentation - Maintain an up-to-date log book for the vehicle and manage all associated inspections and bus
registration. - Liaise with Leisure and Lifestyle staff to develop activities program and review prospective sites for
entertainment value and accessibility, being involved in facility lifestyle activities where feasible. - Assist the Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator & nursing staff with clients during outings and maintain a
client-centred focus at all times. - Understand and contribute to WHS regulations & continuous quality improvement.
