About Central Gippsland Health

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.

CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.

CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About Department

Central Gippsland Health Operaitng theatres provides a Monday to Friday service 0800 to 1630. Our 4 operating theatre service specialty areas that include orthopaedics, ENT, urology, obstetrics and gynecology, dentistry, opthalmology, paediatrics, general surgery and IVF treatment.

We are a very busy department that prides itself on a team work mentality providing support to eachother in a friendly and cohesive working environment.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic theatre technician to join our established team at Central Gippsland Health - Operating Theatre. Located in Sale, the 4 operating theatres provide an important service to the community.

  • The successful applicant will be responsible for patient positioning and maintain all equipment requirements within the operating room.
  • Hours of work are based on a 5 day roster 0800 to 1630 which will include a rotational on-call component over the weekend.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Certificate III & IV in Health-Operating Theatre Technician Practice or equivalent is essential
  • A sound understanding of the recommendations and standards associated with maintaining standard precautions in infection control and applying basic principles of environmental cleaning and disinfection
  • Current and role specific experience is essential
