The Administration Assistant Employment Support role provides administration services to assist jobseekers to build a resume to see them succeed in finding the next step in their career pathway.

This is a great opportunity for someone with good clerical and administrative skills to join the The Ipswich EPlus team, gaining experience and making connections.

This volunteer role requires a minimum 6 month commitment for the right candidate.

A typical day will include;

  • Assisting job seekers to create their resume by utilising the prescribed template and guidelines.
  • Reporting to job coach on numbers of resumes completed and which job seekers need follow up.
  • Updating databases to support identification of applicants for job opportunities.
  • Assisting site Manager/Supervisor with other tasks as directed.
The ideal candidate will have the following essential skills;
  • Must be able to work within the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
  • Excellent phone manner
  • Friendly and approachable and accepting of others.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Basic computer literacy skills including use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Accurate data entry skills.
Desirable skills;
  • Experience in an administrative office environment
  • Must be able to work independently without supervision.
To succeed in this volunteer role, you will need to be conversant with Microsoft Word and Excel, and be an efficient typist. You will have a positive and friendly disposition with an excellent phone manner, and be a quick learner with a high attention to detail and be task orientated. You will need to be reliable, trustworthy and respectful of the differing views and rights of others, and be able to work within the mission and values of The Salvation Army.

This role would be an excellent opportunity for anyone wanting to improve upon their administrative skills, or retain skills and utilise their data entry experience to further the good work of The Salvation Army.

The successful candidate will be supported with induction and training to succeed in the role.
