You will be responsible for leading a team to provide our residents with the delivery of high quality meals within our on-site kitchen and restaurant.

About the role & Aveo Freedom Aged Care Banora Point:

  • Full-time position - 38hrs per week
  • Aveo Freedom Aged Care's purpose is to provide a caring, safe and inspiring environment that supports our residents in living their lives to the fullest through the latter stage of their ageing journey

Your responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring daily quality meal service to Residents from a 4 week cyclic menu, 7 days a week
  • Restaurant services - overseeing both food and service elements
  • Daily monitoring of food safety and general OH&S
  • Total stock management including ordering, stock rotation, stock taking etc.
  • Meeting with clients, customers and other support staff to ensure all required outcomes are met
  • Managing maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • Periodic financial reporting
  • Rostering and managing staff absences
  • Quality management - including performance management if required

About you:

  • Commercial cookery qualification (required)
  • Hold a current Police check clearance
  • Hold or be willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening check
  • Retirement Village / Aged Care Industry experience (desirable)
  • Qualified Food Safety Supervisor (desirable)
  • Demonstrated catering management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work within OH & S and continuous improvement environment
  • Able to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
