The Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the largest tertiary health service in northern Australia; we are responsible for the delivery of healthcare services, education and research within a region covering over 149,500km with a population of approximately 250,000 people.

Eventide provides a multidisciplinary approach to care delivery with a focus on resident's rights and choices. Residents (as able), relatives, carers and other health professionals are involved in the individual care planning process and encouraged to play an active role in the decision-making process.

Eventide Residential Aged Care Facility comprises of 110 residential aged care beds (Commonwealth funded) and self-managed hostel services. Eventide consist of specific units relating to older persons' mental health, secure dementia and high care older persons'. Eventide has a commitment to providing safe and quality care to care recipients in a home like environment, while meeting the Australian Aged Care Agency – Accreditation Standards and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards Accreditation.

The Registered Nurse utilises clinical skills and knowledge whilst working in partnership with other members of the nursing team and students to provide resident focused care and assisting in the achievement of service goals. The RN will be committed to relevant and continued professional education, be actively been involved with the development of others and be involved in the unit portfolios.

Generous salary range of $44.95 to $57.66 p.h. (Nurse Grade 5), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. Mandatory requirements for the role are:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent and current AHPRA registration.
  • Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
  • If employment is at a Multipurpose Health Service or Residential Aged Care Facility an Aged Care Pre Employment Screening will be required: Under section 96-1 of the Aged Care Act 1997 and the Department of Health Police Certificate Guidelines 2017, appointees to the position will require a current National Police Certificate. Townsville HHS will facilitate applicants obtaining the above check.
