Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dynamic Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Pyschogeriatic Unit at Concord Repatriation General Hospital!

Do you have current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and relevant post registration experience in the specialty?

Do you have demonstrated understanding and experience in various teaching methodologies including the ability to plan, conduct and evaluate unit based education?

The Clinical Nurse Educator provides support and clinical development/training to staff while fostering a preceptor/mentor role. The role formulates, coordinates, and evaluates unit based educational programs; assessment and demonstration of clinical procedures.
The aim of the position is to use a participation methodology to build:

  • The capacity of individuals to deliver safe, evidenced based care, incorporating reflective practice with the aim of continual improvement.

  • A patient and family focused culture that supports the NUM and staff to deliver innovative models of care and proactively manage change.

  • The position contributes to the overall improvement of health service delivery.

To be considered for this role you must have…
The ability to participate in a Monday-Friday roster - morning shift

When applying for this position, it would be beneficial to have the following: 

  • Demonstrated recent Aged Care clinical experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • Be familiar with the management of people with cognitive impairment, in particular Delirium and Behavioural/Psychological Symptoms of Dementia
