What You'll Be Doing

The role of Career Medical Officer is to provide high quality and safe clinical care to patients across the hospital setting.

You will be employed by Southern NSW Local Health District. The position is primarily located at Cooma. Secondary appointments within other facilities may occur by mutual agreement.

This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2020_017. All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy.

OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.

  • Evidence of Medical Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Experience working as a single practitioner in charge of hospital for at least 12 months at the level of PGY 4 and above.
  • Demonstrated high level of communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously as a team member.
  • Demonstrated evidence concerning continuing medical education.
  • Commitment to participate in an equitable medical roster, including evenings and weekend shifts.
