Clinical Nurse - Theatre Coordinator

About the role

The Theatre Coordinator is accountable for the floor management in the theatre on a daily basis and the management of all scrub, scout and anaesthetic team members. The role is responsible for both leading people and the theatre assets, such as equipment availability and supply management.

The successful applicant(s) will be responsible for:

  • Daily management in theatre of the scrub, scout and anaesthetic team members, through leadership and management skills of equipment availability and supply of stock.
  • Shifts will be Monday - Friday rostered AM & PM
  • Clear communication with multiple clinical and non-clinical teams on the requirements of the theatres
  • Support to the Clinical Managers, teams within theatre and our clinical partners
  • Allocation of staff into the specialty areas by matching skill mix and experience
  • Kronos support to Managers (training will be provided)
  • Ensuring risk management principles governs clinical practice and occupational Health and Safety responsibilities

What you bring

  • AHPRA registration and current practicing certificate

  • Extensive clinical knowledge in perioperative nursing with ability to acquire knowledge related to contemporary practice in this area.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
  • Sound business acumen with demonstrated skills in human and material resource utilisation
  • Commitment to excellence in customer service and continuous quality improvement
