where relevant a Working with Children and Vulnerable People Check.

Division Responsibilities
Aged Care Quality Reform Division

- Supports the provision of quality care for older Australians through policy development and
building and awareness raising activities.
- Leads and shapes Australia’s aged care system through evidence-based policy, well-targeted
- Our Branches provide leadership in:
o designing and implementing aged care quality and safety and workforce reforms
that focus on consumer outcomes and harmonisation with comparable systems; and
o Leading the response to COVID-19 impacts on aged care.
Ageing and Aged Care Strategic Policy Division
- Supporting the Department and Government to lead and shape reform of Australia’s aged
Safety.
- Leading the aged care Budget strategy.
- Developing evidence-based policy to build more sustainable ageing policy and an aged care
- Providing of aged care portfolio oversight and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Driving initiatives to improve outcomes for senior Australians as they age.
In home Aged Care Division Is responsible for access to the aged care system and aged care services
in the home. Responsibilities of the Division include:
- the policy and operation of My Aged Care; oversight of aged care assessment services;
- program management and policy responsibility for the Home Care Packages program; and
- Program management and policy responsibility for the Commonwealth Home Support
The Division also has policy responsibility for reform of in home aged care policy and assessment
delivery.
Residential and Flexible Aged Care Division
- Supporting the aged care system respond to the threats posed by COVID-19, through
the welfare of vulnerable senior Australians.
- Supporting an ambitious reform agenda resulting from past reviews into the system, budget
- Managing the operations of the residential and flexible aged care system - funding, places
current and future requirements while reform is contemplated and implemented.
- Managing, assessing and delivering a number of aged care grant programs.
- Deliver targeted support to build a financially sustainable sector with a reduced need for
- Developing policies and programs to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and
