An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the West Gippsland Healthcare Group in the role of the Operations Manager for Aged Care. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations, you will work within a motivated and dedicated team that provides the support to the organisation over a wide range of services, including but not limited to recruitment & selection, employee relations, policy advice, reporting, training, workforce management and a range of Aged Care projects. This stimulating role would suit an experienced manager generalist who is flexible, enjoys working within a team and is dedicated to providing great service to their client group.

Our preferred candidate will have:


  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Professional experience and expertise in a senior Aged Care management role.


  • Post graduate gerontology or management qualifications.
  • Management experience in a public health acute service change to mandatory.
  • General knowledge and familiarity of relevant political contexts at local, state and federal levels.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Qualifications and experience as listed above.
  • In-depth knowledge base on The Aged Care Standards and the associated Accreditation process.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the financial management of Residential Aged Care
  • Proven experience in senior management.
  • The provision of high level leadership including the ability to manage teams, budgets, recruitment, performance development and working to achieve identified reporting targets within relevant stream and coach/mentor senior health professionals.

The West Gippsland Healthcare Group is a customer focused health organisation providing acute medical and surgical, obstetric, emergency, residential care and community health services to 45,000 people in the rural, urban residential, agricultural and industrial areas located within the Baw Baw Shire and beyond. The administrative headquarters are located at West Gippsland Hospital in Warragul, approximately 100kms east of Melbourne.
