Full Job Description
The Allied Health Educator, is part of the Mental Health Learning & Development Team, and assists with the design, coordination and delivery of professional development activities for staff to meet the needs of the service. The Allied Health Educator also provides professional leadership to the mental health Social Work and Occupational Therapy workforce, promote best clinical practice of Social Workers and Occupational Therapists via a line report to the Program Director.

Allied Health Educator Grade 4 and Occupational Therapist or Social Worker Discipline Lead
Part time 0.8 EFT (0.8 EFT Education / 0.2 Occupational Therapist/ Social Work Discipline Lead) fixed term position until May 2022
Based at Saltwater Clinic, Footscray and working across all Mercy Mental Health sites.
Provide leadership to the mental health Occupational Therapy/Social Work workforce
Deliver and evaluate professional development activities across the service.

ABOUT YOU:
Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or Occupational Therapist with AHRRA registration
Post registration qualification in education or workplace training, and/or experience in the design and delivery of training
Demonstrated leadership qualities, including ability to mentor clinicians
Knowledge of contemporary allied health and mental health workforce challenges
Extensive experience and expertise in mental health service delivery

Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
