An exciting opportunity exists to work within the Sydney Local Health District Team at Sydney Airport or SLHD Flying Squad!

Do you have current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)?

Do you have minimum of 12 months experience working as a Registered Nurse?

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of patient centred; evidence informed nursing care that promotes identified health outcomes. The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Sydney Airport Registered Nurse position:

The SLHD airport team is responsible for conducting COVID-19 testing of symptomatic passengers and air crew as well as asymptomatic passengers and crew who are isolating at home or who are travelling interstate. In addition to COVID-19 testing, the SLHD airport team are also responsible for ascertaining the suitability of diplomats, unaccompanied minors, air crew and others with exemptions to isolate at home in accordance with the current NSW Health Public Health Orders.

You will work with a supportive and dynamic team on 7 day roster, Monday to Sunday, morning and afternoon shifts. The role will be based mostly at Sydney International Airport (parking will be provided for free) with opportunities to also work at Sydney Domestic Airport and other operational COVID-19 activities within SLHD.

SLHD Flying Squad position:

The SLHD Covid-19 Flying Squad delivers a diverse and flexible service supporting the community by providing access to screening and testing to vulnerable and high risk cohorts in line with the Sydney Local Health districts approach to Covid-19. The Flying Squad works in conjunction with the Public Health Unit and RPA Virtual to ensure a compassionate, professional and crucial health initiative. 

We co-ordinate screening and testing to: 

  • Vulnerable communities
  • Residential Aged Care Facilities
  • Schools 
  • Cruise ships 

SLHD Flying Squad shifts are Monday to Sunday morning shifts. 

Current NSW Driver's Licence would be beneficial for SLHD Flying Squad.

To be considered for this role you must have…

  • Minimum 12 months experience working as a Registered Nurse
  • Ability to participate in a 7 day roster, morning and evening shift – Sydney Airport Registered Nurse position

  • Ability to participate in a 7 day roster, morning shifts - SLHD Flying Squad position
