JOB DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity:

Our highly valued client - a federal government body, is seeking multiple Operational & Housing Support Officers to support the Operation and Support Branch who deliver core initiative and projects to enhance capacity and capability to engage meaningfully with clients. The branch enables front line service staff to achieve targets, provides strategic advice on process delivery and undertake continuous improvement activities. Our Melbourne based client is transforming the disability sector by providing participants with the freedom to access funding based on their individual needs providing flexibility and choice.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking delegated decisions and supporting National Delivery with reviewing, assessing and approving participant's plans, schedule reviews, assistive technology, payments, and access tasks.
  • Assessing, reviewing, and providing feedback on planning decisions in accordance with the relevant Acts and rules. 
  • Undertaking record keeping activities, including adhering to process guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Researching and reviewing decisions regarding routine cases and managing moderately complex cases with the assistance of staff at higher classification levels.
  • Providing support and mentoring to enhance team development.
  • Monitoring and analysing quality outcomes and results to identify trends.
  • Supporting the leadership team to develop and implement improvement strategies.
  • Supporting the delivery and implementation of branch projects as required.

Requirements: 

  • Experience managing an independent case load 
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and high attention to detail, medical, not-for-profit, volunteering or community involvement HIGHLY regarded 
  • An ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Great communication skills
  • Positive attitude towards disability - direct or indirect experience within this sector or within health, aged care

These opportunities are initial 13-month contracts with possibility to extend and is offering at an APS4 level offering $41.64 +superannuation. Office location is based in Melbourne, CBD.
