About the opportunity

The Deputy Operations Manager supports the Operations Manager in the management of the Pre Analytics department. As a part of our leadership team, you will oversee the operations of our Courier and Collection departments, assisting with recruitment and developing efficiency to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The focus of this role will be effectively engaging and inspiring the team to drive culture and optimal departmental performance.

Duties:
Lead and manage the day to day operations of the Collection and Courier team
Work with the Operations Manager to develop, implement and review operational policies and procedures
Provide inspired leadership and model a positive attitude, professional conduct and a strong commitment to quality outcomes and service delivery in line with organisational values
Build positive and productive team relationships providing support and guidance
Practice and promote a high level of customer service to promote medical leadership and encourage high performance and morale from the team
Provide high level management and supervision
Engage strategies to recruit and retain staff
Develop strategic plans to improve performance
Risk mitigation
Identify quality improvement processes and lead change in the pursuit of optimal performance and service
Assist to achieve strategic goals through the day to day operations
Management of productivity, quality and safety measures
Assist to monitor and evaluate financial performance
Evaluate, monitor and manage departmental performance
Monitor and reduce error rates
Ensure all regulatory requirements are met and monitor compliance
Identify and manage training programs to support operations
Assist with departmental projects as required
Undertake training and development as required to ensure success in position
Other duties as delegated by the Operations Manager

Applicants should possess the following:
Proven experience leading teams and managing large teams
Understanding of general finance and budgeting processes
Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining effective high level working relationships
Experience in managing large scale operations and leadership
A high degree of flexibility and the ability to prioritise for the benefit of the business, better patient care, and excellent service
Good attention to detail and strong time management skills
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to implement and manage change effectively
A high degree of flexibility and the ability to prioritise for the benefit of the business, better patient care, and excellent service
Strong written, communication and presentation skills
Relevant tertiary degree in Business desirable
Proficient in Microsoft Office
