Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.

CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.

CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About the Role

Heyfield Hospital is seeking the services of a Food & Environmental Assistant to work collaboratively in a positive team environment. The part time permanent position requires the incumbent to interact positively and effectively within the Aged Care Services team and more broadly with staff and residents from Heyfield Hospital/Laurina Lodge.

The role involves contributing to the preparation and delivery food to the patients/residents and the maintenance of a clean and safe environment for patients/residents, staff and visitors to Heyfield Hospital/Laurina Lodge whilst upholding and fulfilling the organization's vision, mission and values in a caring friendly environment.

Duties

  • Clean and sanitise cooking and food preparation areas
  • Order supplies
  • Collect and clean/sanitise all equipment, utensils and service ware
  • Distribute means and function food with health services as required
  • Assist in the preparation, pre-set and plating of food

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate certification in Food Safety Practices
  • Safe handling of Chemicals
  • Relevant vocational qualifications and/or preparedness to undertake appropriate training
