About Central Gippsland Health

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.

CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.

CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About Department

Heyfield Hospital is a health service campus of Central Gippsland Health Service. Services include outpatients and subacute, TCP, and palliative care across 11 beds, and person centered residential aged care for 51 high care Residents. Teamwork and collaboration in a supportive, friendly environment are valued.

About the Role

Applications are invited from Registered Nurses who display;

  • Leadership and coordination skills
  • Acute, Aged Care experience
  • Palliative Care experience
  • Team and staff management ability
  • Role modelling, mentoring and preceptorship capabilities

Duties

  • Establish a relationship between the patient and yourself in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for your patients
  • Support patient care in accordance with the best interests of the patient
  • Apply knowledge and skills to undertake systematic assessments of patients, develop and document the plan of care
  • Implement the plan by providing direct care to patients

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Registered Nurse holding current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Nursing Qualification
