Brotherhood of St Laurence Banksia Services has multiple vacancies for Community Support Workers in both the Cottage Respite and Day Services programs. You will have gained experience in either the Aged Care or Disability sectors and be experienced in caring for clients with dementia. The respite cottage is a 6-bed facility located in Frankston and Day Services operate from the Carrum Downs and Frankston sites. 

To be successful in the role you will have a strong sense of “going above and beyond” to provide support to clients and a strong background in managing behaviours of concerns through positive behaviour support and creative strategies to support clients with Dementia. You will be joining a supportive team with an opportunity to make a difference to the lives of others. 

This isn’t a standard role- we go above and beyond, and we want you to help us shape our future!

Shifts available – 2.00pm – 10.00pm Monday – Friday and 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday and night shifts 

You will:

  • Provide personal care needs to clients with disabilities i.e. dementia specific
  • Provide high quality care to support physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing
  • Assist with daily activities including recreational programs
  • Develop program and activities that engage the client
  • Provide support to carers and families
  • Be a strong team player, take initiative and work alongside your team in a highly accountable, creative and passionate team

 To be successful in this role you will:

  • Minimum qualification of Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated background with complex behaviours of concerns within a positive behavioural support approach
  • Medication endorsement
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and review programs your implement to meet client needs
  • High level of self-accountability, strong time management and a strong ‘above and beyond’ attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to not only accept change, but drive change within your work
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License and an ability to drive a mini bus

Working exclusively with BSL services to support a COVID SAFE Aged Care approach

Salary: $50,691.68 to $52,417.04 plus superannuation. Salary packaging available
