Job Description:

Position Title: Nuclear Medicine Scientist

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Hours per week: 38 Hours per week

Position Grade: Level 2 (Year 1 – 5)

Salary: $66,882.49 - $93,394.42 per annum

Enterprise Agreement: The Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisation’s Health Employees Agreement 2009

Position Summary:

A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Nuclear Medicine Scientist with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care.

The Nuclear Medicine Scientist at this level:

  • Demonstrates independent and significant professional knowledge and judgement when performing clinical tasks.

  • Takes an active part in multidisciplinary teams and gain experience in the more complex Nuclear Medicine procedures including Quality Improvement / Assurance activities.

  • Is expected to provide a high level of patient care and continue to develop their knowledge regarding work place safety issues (e.g. Manual Handling, OH&S).

  • Demonstrates significant ongoing commitment to continuing education and participates in undergraduate student education and departmental in-service lectures

Selection Criteria

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiation Science - Nuclear Medicine or equivalent qualifications recognised by the accreditation board of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine and currently holds a radiation licence under the Radiation Control Act 1990.

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • Completed at least one year full time employment or equivalent in an ANZSNM approved Department and obtained their accreditation.

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve organisation outcomes.

  • Proven high level communication, interpersonal and decision making skills and the ability to solve complex problems.

  • Developed knowledge in the application of quality improvement, industrial, risk management and WH&S principles.

  • Demonstrated significant ongoing commitment to continuing education and willingness to participate in undergraduate student education and departmental in-service lectures.
