What we do

Jewish Care Victoria, a not-for-profit organisation, is the largest provider of aged and community services for the Jewish Community in Victoria. Services include Aged Residential Care, Assessment Referral and Individual Support Services, Community Aged Care, Disability, Mental Health, Youth and Family Services and Holocaust Survivors Programs.

The role

We are seeking a pro-active, friendly and efficient individual who can provide solid support to the Finance Business Partner. The Financial Reconciliation Officer is a critical role that has the responsibility of debtor receipting, reconciling loan balances, updating the daily cash flow model and reconciling the bank balances. You will have reach into all levels within the organisation, as well as external providers. Your ability to openly and respectfully communicate, recognise when an issue requires escalation, and strong problem solving capability will set you up for success in this position within our Finance team.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Overseeing the Accounts Receivable Inbox and directing the client / supplier queries to the correct channels for action / response
  • Perform daily cash receipting into the specific sub-systems.
  • Perform fortnightly and monthly direct debit processing in the sub-systems and prepare direct debit bank files.
  • Perform monthly billing tasks for clients.
  • Setting-up new sundry debtors in GP, invoicing them based on business requirements and collection management.
  • Ensure approved bad debt write-offs are processed on a timely basis.
  • Cancellation of cheques, and reconciliations of fundraising payments, Procura over payments, Centre Pay payments, AMEX and Daily Credit Cards process across multiple departments
  • Liaison with Residential Aged Care homes regarding daily cash receipting and banking.
  • Managing the Empower Loans program including new borrowers, invoicing, receipting, direct debits, payment scheduling, Centrepay arrangements and month end statements reporting.
  • Overseeing the processing of credit cards, cash and cheque payments, receipting in CIM & Procura and end-to-end banking process of JCV.
  • Preparing Balance Sheet Reconciliations as required
  • Perform system integrations to ensure accurate and complete transfer of data from Procura, CIM, and Chintaro to Great Plains and ensure all sub-systems vs G/L is balanced and reconciled weekly and at the End of Month.
  • Report borrowers in default and communicate dishonoured payments immediately to key program personnel

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience working with bank statements, reconciliations, debtors ledgers
  • Proven proficiency in Excel (advanced)
  • Ability to process high volumes of transactions
  • Ability to work to and maintain deadlines
  • Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Previous experience with Great Plains software is highly regarded
