As a Support Worker, you will be assigned to one house, or a group of adjacent houses and may support multiple clients at that location.
As an empathetic and dedicated individual, you will rapidly assume a significant role in our housing client’s lives, allowing them to live their best life and meet all of their goals.
In this role, you will be required to undertake the following tasks:
- performing basic hygiene tasks, such as bathing and brushing teeth
- daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning and doing laundry
- transporting clients to therapy or medical appointments and/or take them shopping and completing other chores
- helping with complex life chores such as application forms
- coordinating with family and friends for social occasions
- helping clients to enjoy activities, such as art, music or outings
- helping clients to engage with community services
- assisting in building client self-image and self-confidence, usually at the direction of a therapist
- cleaning rooms, and/or providing assistance to help clients clean their rooms
- medication administration (only with appropriate training and only when a medication plan is in place under the recognizance of an appropriate health professional)
- behaviour observation and support at the behest of a therapist or specialist
Our Support Workers are expected to conform to the NDIS Code of Conduct at all times.
About You
You are an empathetic, competent and diligent person who is proud to provide assistance to individuals with physical, developmental or cognitive disabilities.
You’ll need to be a compassionate and detail-oriented person who possesses strong listening and oral communication skills. Patience, a passion for helping people and being a consummate team player are also essential.
Teamwork is necessary but you will need the ability to work independently with clients to assist them to achieve their goals. You should also be in good physical condition as the job may involve lifting clients, such as assisting them into vehicles, or helping them in and out of showers.
To be successful in this role you need to possess the following:

- Basic IT literacy and skills
- Self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record management and maintenance
There is no mandatory experience requirement, except that all successful applicants must have completed the free NDIS-mandated module “Quality, Safety and You”. This can be found on the NDIS website.
Certificate level qualifications, such as Disability Services or Community Services, are well regarded, and Aged Care qualifications are also a good indicator of skills.
To commence work, all Support Workers will need the following:
- Police Clearance
- Current Disability Check
- Manual Handling
- Medication Administration Training
