About the roleThe Residential Services Manager leads the management team at each facility and works closely with the Regional Manager in developing, managing and evaluating facility performance. We are currently sourcing for a Residential Services Manager on full time on-going basis for a 132 bed facility in Clayton and a full time 6 month maximum term basis (with the possibility of extension or permanency) for a 96 bed facility in Wantirna.

  • Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individual care to maximise choice and quality of life for each resident
  • Lead and manage the care provided by the multi-disciplinary team, identifying clear team goals and providing clear direction to enhance care staff’s understanding of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure the provision of high levels of clinical care to all residents in ways that support the development & maintenance of physical, psychological, spiritual and social wellbeing and reflects an understanding of aged care and the needs of older people
  • Actively participate in the operation of the organisation’s quality system particularly in relation to the implementation of Aged Care Accreditation Standards to enhance resident choice and quality of living; occupational health and safety and compliance matters as they relate to all residential services
  • Demonstrate awareness of complying with all legislative requirements and statutory regulations including Occupational Health and Safety, Aged Care Act, Charter of residents’ rights and responsibilities, Equal Opportunity Act, Privacy Act
  • Maintain knowledge and skills relevant to the position through participation in team and organisational meetings, education sessions and staff development programs including attending mandatory training (i.e. Organisational Orientation, Food Safety, Occupational Health and Safety)

Skills & experience

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role at an Aged Care Facility
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Act, ACFI, Aged Care Quality & Safety Standards and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships
  • Working knowledge of Health Care/Aged Care information management systems, Microsoft Office applications, email and the internet
