JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Mercy Hospital for Women has an opportunity in the Patient Services Emergency department for an experienced Administration Officer who is familiar with the emergency, switch and inpatient clerical duties and demonstrates Mercy Values. This position will suit a motivated person with an enthusiastic can-do approach, with sound communication and interpersonal skills with a strong patient focus providing excellent customer service to all.

  • Permanent part time every Friday and alternate Sunday afternoons including public holidays
  • Hours are Fridays 1430-2300 and Sunday 1500-2300
  • Primary area is in our fast-paced Emergency Department
  • Responsible and accountable for the daily administrative tasks in the Emergency Department including admitting, discharging and emergency clerking of patients, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation are maintained as per DHHS requirements, activation of the hospital emergency response codes, invoicing of patients, the polite answering of phone calls and retrieval of patient notes and histories when required

ABOUT YOU:

  • A sound knowledge and understanding of iPM, BOS, EDIS, CPF and Donnel and their functions
  • Accurate data entry and effective time management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Excellent customer service with a can-do approach and the ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels

Mercy Hospital for Women is a fully accredited Level 6 Public Specialist Teaching Hospital providing both public and private patient care through maternity services, neonatology and paediatrics, perioperative services, gynaecology, women's health and associated health, support and diagnostic services. We are a major teaching hospital and specialist referral centre with the medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health expertise to treat the most complex obstetric, neonatal and gynaecological cases.
