We support people who require individualised assistance to live at home due to disability, frailty or mental illness. Support Workers provide quality services to people and they form an integral link with our teams.

We are looking for reliable and enthusiastic Support Worker preferably female (as requested by our customer) with experience in physical disability support to join the Northern River team Glendalough and Mt Hawthorn Area.

Duties include:

  • Providing a range of support services including social support
  • Providing intellectual/ physical disability support
  • Providing complex support
  • Frail aged support
  • Personal care, hoisting, peg feeding and manual tasks
  • Providing reliable, timely and flexible services that best meet the needs of the individual and their family
  • Problem solving issues with the person and/or their family, and the team
  • Reporting issues and hazards as required

Selection criteria:

  • Previous Support Work experience in Aged Care and Disability is essential
  • Previous experience in providing complex personal care support
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Resilient with the ability to find creative and practical solutions
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle are essential
  • Ability to work short, varying shifts with the view to build up hours over time
  • Must be currently living in or around the Glendalough and Mt Hawthorn Areas.

The successful applicant will receive a minimum salary of $21.21 is on offer as is a travel allowance of 78 cents per kilometre between supports. Other benefits include the payment of travel time, the option of salary packaging up to $18,550 tax free, and accrued annual and personal leave.

Appointments to this position will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Clearance.
