JOB DESCRIPTION

The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of Victorians into the future. We also lead the Victorian Government's response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Working with our partners, we oversee Victoria's health system including mental health, ageing and aged care and preventive health. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Policy Adviser, Aboriginal Health, has responsibility for policy development to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal Victorians. Under the direction of the Chief Aboriginal Health Adviser, the Senior Policy Adviser will drive and coordinate health reform strategies and initiatives to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal Victorians. The Senior Policy Adviser will work with the department's divisions, in partnership with Aboriginal organisations and health services, to ensure health care delivery is culturally safe and delivered in partnership with Aboriginal Victorians.
