Opportunity and Context

12 month contract based in Geelong with potential to extend.

Leadership role with delegated authority within the Internal Reviews and Complaints Branch of a federal Agency.


Supporting and leading team members and business units dealing with complaints and issues. This role will involve engagement with Participants, Providers, a range of external and internal stakeholders and will lead from the front.

  • Leading and supporting team members to effectively manage complaints
  • Managing complaints and incidents, including assessing, recording, resolving and referring as required.
  • Managing escalated complaints and ensuring strict deadlines are met
  • Producing quality written correspondence for a range of audiences, including formal responses for the Minister.
  • Managing correspondence, briefing and reporting functions for the Complaints Team.
  • Supporting the Complaints Team to resolve day to day operations issues and assist in achieving the branch's strategic objectives


  • Prior experience in a complaints team and complaints handling role
  • Experience in government, health, aged care, or large regulated environment
  • Mentoring and leadership experience
  • Calm and professional
  • Excellent written communication and reporting skills
  • Lived or working experience with disability preferred
