We are looking for in-home Support Workers to join Woden Community Service, providing support to clients in Domestic Assistance, Personal Care, Individual Social Support and Shopping Support.

We deliver a wide range of services covering a cross-section of the community from children, families, young people and seniors including disability, housing, refugee and mental health services.

About the role

  • Work alongside our clients to enable them to achieve their goals in line with their individual service goals.
  • Work alongside clients to maximise their independence, self-esteem and confidence using a person centred approach.
  • Assisting clients in their shopping and other daily needs.
  • Providing personal care to clients to ensure hygiene and comfort.
  • Domestic duties including cleaning and assisting clients in maintaining their residences.
Experience and Skills

  • Relevant community sector based knowledge.
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement of employment (at your own expense).
  • Current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and build and maintain sound relationships with individuals, carers and families based on mutual respect and trust.
  • Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of the importance of personal and professional boundaries, privacy and confidentiality and ethical behaviour.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
Previous experience working within the Aged Care sector either in a paid or volunteer capacity is highly desirable.
