Join Australia’s largest team of economic policy and evaluation professionals in delivering unique insights to help public and private sector organisations plan for the future. You will be exposed to diverse topics and experiences in a supportive and flexible environment.

What will your typical day look like?

You will work on a range of exciting, thought-provoking and high-profile projects across a range of areas including health, mental health, aged care, disability, family violence and justice.

Day to day, you will:
Manage evaluation, policy and economics projects by working closely with clients, with the support of other Deloitte team members

Guide the development of evaluation frameworks and program logic models

Guide and undertake quantitative data methods and analysis including descriptive and inferential statistics and economic analysis methods, particularly cost benefit analysis (CBA)

Guide and undertake qualitative data methods and analysis (e.g. interviews, focus groups and workshops)

Draft and communicate findings in reports and compelling presentations

Coach and mentor analysts and senior analysts to support the delivery of engagements and play a key role in their development.

Your clients will include government departments, non-profit organisations and funders and providers of services. Clients will be based in Victoria, other Australian jurisdictions, and globally in some cases. You will be adaptable and flexible in working across a variety of settings and clients.

About the team

The Deloitte Access Economics Health Economics and Social Policy team is a dedicated practice of professionals with a passion for making an impact in the health and social services sector.

Our team works with clients to design and improve investments in programs and services, so they maximise benefit to the community.

The types of projects you work on will include program and policy evaluation; social impact analysis; economic analysis; public policy and program design; business cases and regulatory impact statements.

We have experience informing and leading the policy debate for the health and social services sector. We anticipate how the dynamics of the sector will change and support our clients to adapt to future trends.

Our strength lies within our relationships with our clients and key industry players. This has enabled us to inject industry insight and experience into our analysis to ensure the solutions we deliver are practical, responsive to industry trends, and meet our client’s needs. Now, it means we play a key role in driving an integrated response to the future challenges that lay ahead.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You will be a motivated and engaged individual with a passion to make an impact in health and/or social policy. Specifically, you will have:

A minimum of three years’ experience in the health and/or social policy sector, as either an economist, evaluator, researcher or policy analyst/advisor (the number of years of experience is provided as a guide only - please don’t let it limit you if you think you’ve got something to add to our team)

Strong academic results in one or more of: economics; public policy; research and evaluation; or public health (or similar)

Previous experience in a consulting environment; and/or the public sector; and/or a health or social service delivery organisation

Demonstrated understanding of the Australian system of government and/or service delivery systems (particularly health and social services)

Interest in any one or more of the following fields: program evaluation; social impact measurement; public policy; health economics.

Ability to develop, coach and motivate junior members of the team

Desire to work as part of a collaborative, successful team and contribute to our innovative, open-minded and inclusive culture
