Miss having a yarn with your grandparents? Learn from those wiser, and volunteer to visit the young at heart. No doubt you’ll develop a soft spot for adorable seniors and be able to simultaneously brighten their day!

We’re looking for volunteers to visit our residential villages at Byron Bay, Kingscliff and Bangalow to help keep seniors socially connected and live bolder lives!

Laugh, chat and give purpose to someone’s life through fun, friendly social visits, or by providing reliable and safe transport out of the village for day trips and appointments.

From accompanying clients to sharing your interests and hobbies, be it cards, crafting, gardening, computer games or cars, make a difference with Feros Care.

What to bring:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide a client-focused service
  • Flexible availability over a three to six month commitment
  • Enjoy going out and being part of a greater community
  • Be compassionate, patient, observant and a good listener
  • Comfortable using technology (including smartphones and computers) and basic applications

For brownie points:

  • Previous experience working with, or volunteering with seniors, particularly those with dementia
  • Have a current unrestricted Driver's Licence and a registered and insured vehicle
  • Be a safe and confident driver with a good driving history
  • Previous experience driving a minibus
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Barista training; our residents love their coffee!
