About the role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the finance team and providing key financial deliverables through the establishment and ongoing monitoring of robust financial processes and procedures.

The successful candidate will demonstrate sound leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop their teams as well as lead change and key business improvements. The Financial Controller has responsibility for the transactional finance teams and a team of business partners. The successful candidate will present with CPA or CA qualification and experience gained in a similar role within a large and multifaceted business. You will also demonstrate the following:

Skills & experience

  • Bachelor of Business (Accounting) or equivalent
  • CPA or CA Qualified
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role
  • High personal integrity with a pro-active and energetic disposition
  • Strong written and verbal skills as well as experience operating at Board level
  • Experience implementing and developing new financial systems
  • Strong system skills
  • Experience in a broad range of accounting expertise including: AP, AR, Payroll, Expense Management, Monthly Management and Board reporting, Statutory reporting, direct and indirect taxation and compliance
  • Experience gained from working in the Aged care, Community Care or Disability sectors is advantageous but not essential
